The Opportunity
We are excited to announce our search for a Social Media Director. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, you will be our first dedicated hire focused on social media. Your mission? Establishing and scaling Flock’s social media presence across multiple platforms into a robust engine for brand awareness, community engagement, and business growth. This is a unique opportunity to craft Flock's social media strategy and voice, influencing how countless individuals perceive our mission.
- Design and implement a bold, multi-platform social media strategy across channels such as LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube, and other emerging platforms.
- Develop Flock’s brand voice on social media, producing compelling content that fosters awareness, trust, and engagement among both B2G and B2B audiences.
- Oversee the daily management of Flock's social channels, including content calendars, publishing, audience engagement, and real-time brand interactions.
- Collaborate with brand, creative, content, and communications teams to amplify key campaigns, product launches, and storytelling initiatives.
- Leverage audience insights, social listening, competitor analysis, and trend spotting to drive growth.
- Transform social media into a performance-driven engine: set KPIs, analyze results, and use data for ongoing improvements.
- Recruit and build a talented social media team as the function expands.
- Act as an internal champion for how social media can enhance pipeline, brand affinity, and community impact.
The Skillset
- Over 10 years of proven experience in social media strategy and execution, preferably in high-growth tech, civic-tech, or mission-driven organizations.
- Track record of successfully building and scaling social media followings from scratch.
- Expertise in LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube, and other emerging platforms.
- Combines creative and analytical skills, capable of crafting award-winning campaigns and measuring their success through data.
- Strong understanding of brand development, tone of voice, and audience psychology.
- Experience managing crisis communications and sensitive online discussions with professionalism and tact.
- Proficient in using social listening tools, analytics, and publishing platforms.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, adept at partnering with executives, sales, communications, and product marketing.
- Comfortable with fast-paced environments, iterative processes, and testing innovative ideas in public.

Your First 90 Days at Flock
At Flock, we believe in a results-oriented approach. The following outlines your prospective 90-day plan:
First 30 Days
- Conduct an audit of Flock's current social media presence and benchmark it against leading competitors.
- Define Year 1 social strategy, including detailed KPI metrics, content plan, and brand tone in collaboration with the CMO and communications team.
- Develop the initial editorial and channel plan for the first 90 days.
First 60 Days
- Launch newly structured content calendars across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Create reporting dashboards and establish success metrics (growth, engagement, reach, sentiment, share of voice).
- Execute a breakout campaign to signify a new chapter for Flock’s social media efforts.
90 Days and Beyond
- Oversee daily social media execution with established routines and frameworks.
- Demonstrate measurable growth in followers, engagement, and overall social presence.
- Present a comprehensive 12-month roadmap for scaling social media, including team requirements, budget, and creative initiatives.

Salary & Equity
The salary range for this role is $175,000 - $225,000, along with stock options. Your placement within this range will be based on your demonstrated competencies and relevant experience. You can expect a starting salary around the midpoint, with details clarified during the initial interview.

Our compensation philosophy focuses on fair pay based on job-related experience, education, and market factors.
