What You'll Do

As a Music Therapist, you will plan, coordinate, and implement music therapy services to support the restoration, maintenance, and promotion of patients' mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health. You'll collaborate with other wellness practitioners to provide holistic healing experiences.

Music Therapist Job Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, plan, and conduct individual and group music therapy sessions with clear goals and objectives.
  • Use music therapy for expression, mood enhancement, coping skills, stress reduction, self-esteem, relaxation, creativity, and guided imagery.
  • Foster a holistic approach to patient healing.
  • Provide education programs and make referrals to other practitioners as needed.
  • Maintain accurate case records, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes per hospital and accrediting standards.
  • Participate in in-service training opportunities to increase staff awareness of integrative healing approaches.
  • Support department effectiveness by attending meetings, continuing education, and maintaining professional affiliations.
  • Stay current with professional literature and music therapy best practices.
  • Complete additional job-related duties and projects assigned.
What You Bring

You bring expertise in music therapy, strong communication skills, and a holistic approach to patient care.

Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Certification: Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC).
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of clinical music therapy experience.
  • Skills: Advanced knowledge of music therapy practices; strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills; ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical standards.
Working Conditions
  • Fast-paced clinical environment with patients, team members, and physicians.
  • Possible exposure to aromatherapy odors.
  • Variable work hours depending on departmental needs.
Physical Demands
  • Requires the physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the role.
