Job Summary

Supervise the operations of laboratory (lab) facility services, lab personnel and laboratory materials storeroom, which maintain and support a wide variety of laboratory and field programs. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position.
Essential Functions

Plan, implement, and coordinate the daily operations of campus instructional labs, including staffing, communication, problem resolution, equipment maintenance, and supplies. Supervise the activities of students, faculty, and staff to ensure a safe learning environment. Provides orientation to faculty, staff, and students in the use of the laboratory, equipment, and supplies.
Provide direct supervision and personnel management of full-time, part-time, and work study staff assigned to the laboratory.
Provide support to faculty through instructional assistance. Participate in the evaluation and selection of learning materials and participate in preparation of instructional materials for lectures or labs. Coordinate with instructional liaison to ensure proper academic and technical support is available to students and faculty.
Develop and maintain an inventory system for instructional materials and equipment. Ensure equipment is in good working order. Oversee the performance of routine repair and maintenance.
Recommend short- and long-term goals and objectives and operating policies and procedures. Develop budget recommendation and coordinate lab activities within approved budget.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

NOTE: A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and reflect completed coursework and degrees conferred. The candidate must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application.

2. Experience managing and supervising personnel.

3. Experience providing instructional assistance and laboratory orientation to faculty, staff, and students.

4. Experience recommending budgets and staying within approved budget.

5. Experience working as the lead for organizing events and the logistics needed to execute them in a timely manner.

6. Experience developing and maintaining an inventory system.

7. Experience working with a variety of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.

8. Effective interpersonal and teambuilding skills.

9. Effective communications skills (oral and written).

Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework.

Out-of-town candidates invited for an on-campus interview will be reimbursed for one-half of the transportation cost for travel performed within the United States. The College will arrange and pay for up to two nights lodging.
