Role Overview
Reporting directly to the VP, Creative Director & Marketing Director, the Social Media & Marketing Manager defines and executes social media marketing strategies for businesses under the GrandLife Hotels umbrella including Roxy Hotel New York, Soho Grand Hotel, Roxy Bar, Roxy Cinema New York, The Django, Gilligans, Soho Diner, and Club Room. The individual also has a keen sense of style and design, a passion for downtown life & culture, and an innate understanding of branding and brand development.
Responsibilities
- Ensure brand integrity is at the forefront of all decisions and posts.
- Ensure copy is accurate and relevant, making changes when necessary.
- Provide individual organic content for all social media channels. Must include a combination of lifestyle posts, event programming posts, and user generated shares.
- Capture appropriate photo and video content to be used across all social media channels.
- Adding stories and reels into a planning tool in advance to be reviewed and approved by the Creative Director and the Marketing Director. Adding grid posts into Instagram scheduler in advance to be reviewed and approved by the Creative Director and the Marketing Director.
- Manage a content calendar of strategy, photo shoots, special events organized by venue, by month.
- Host a weekly content strategy meeting to review planning, analytics, and brainstorm ideas.
- Create and implement new hashtag strategies across platforms that drive new user engagement.
- Identify new follower and engagement growth strategies and tactics.
- Research appropriate influencers to engage in our spaces. Recommend influencers for barter for social and PR.
- Focus on meeting organizational objectives and detailed marketing initiatives across all channels and departments.
- Maintain a library of photos and videos in Dropbox.
- Leverage and create relevant contacts in music, arts, fashion and design to develop strategic partnerships to enhance the GrandLife Hotel brand.
- Escalation of high-profile, sensitive or negative/questions.
Requirements & Abilities
- 2-4 years of experience in Social Media Marketing for comparable brand.
- Adobe Creative Suite (indesign, photoshop, illustrator) and Microsoft Office experience preferred.
- Work a 10 hour shift on the premises, 5 days a week.
- 4 year College Degree preferred.
- Experience developing & implementing marketing strategies and managing budgets including, but not limited to, Facebook (Meta), Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube.
- Must be personable, well spoken, organized, diplomatic, and sincere.
- Willingness to embody the Grandlife brand through presentation and style.
- Refined taste with an interest in music, fashion, art, dining & nightlife particularly pertaining to downtown New York.
- Must be willing to take ownership of the role and follow all projects through to completion.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing various projects at once.
- Prioritize and manage time in an effective and efficient manner.
- Build and implement strong marketing plans with actionable goals for both the hotel and all F&B outlets.
- Be a team player collaborate with cross-functional teams and many department heads.
- Be creative think outside the box and produce and contribute new ideas.
- Reflect the brand identity and style across all projects and marketing material.
