Overview
Cook, Silas Creative Kitchen (Evening Shift) at Midmark Corporation.
The role is part of the hospitality team with a goal to provide fresh, healthy, nutritious and great tasting food and beverages in a clean, friendly, and inviting environment. The cook will provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all guests. Duties include cooking meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot foods, preparing and portioning food prior to cooking, plating and garnishing cooked items, and preparing appropriate garnishes for hot menu item plates. Each teammates primary objective is to create a marvelous guest experience that encourages return visits.
Responsibilities
- Prepares, seasons, and cooks food.
- Ensures prep stations are stocked.
- Prepares simple components of each dish on the prep list provided by the Chef.
- Carves portions of meat, fish, or fowl for individual servings.
- Ensures food and prep areas meet health and safety standards.
- Assists in preparing, cooking, and storing food and maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in a sanitary condition.
Secondary Duties
- Unloads incoming stock, prepares boxes for storage, and uses proper rotation of all products.
- Helps maintain, clean, and stock coffee and vending areas throughout the campus.
Education and/or Experience
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
Competency/Skill Requirements
- Advanced ability to develop and learn from others.
- Strong decision-making and organizational skills.
- Proficient oral communication and creative skills.
- High aptitude for multi-tasking.
- Basic computer skills.

Work Environment
The work environment may include moving mechanical parts. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, schedules may vary, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers and hot kitchen areas.
