Job Summary

The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidate’s area of expertise within the Department of Art & Design.

Responsibilities

• Instructional areas may include: Art Studio, Foundations, Drawing, 2D/3D Design, Computers in Art, Digital Media/Design, Animation, etc., and/or General Education (Core) Art Appreciation.
• Additional course offerings based upon qualifications and experience.
• PT Instructors work directly with the department head and full‑time program faculty to develop and deliver course content.

Typical Allocation of Duties

Teaching – 100%

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Visual Arts, Studio, Design, Architecture, Art History, Art Education, etc.
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting.
• A record of mentoring students.

Proposed Salary

Commensurate with experience.

Conditions of Employment

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. Position may require credit check. Position requires completion of VSU’s annual compliance training courses (see VSU website for details).
