We are seeking an Audio‑Visual Technician I to join our rapidly growing team.

The Opportunity

As the AV Technician I, you will coordinate and provide audio‑visual services for our guests, assist with immediate issues, and support events, meetings, and celebrations across campus. Working efficiently and effectively under pressure is essential as you help with many events in various venues.

The Accountabilities

  • Assist with providing audio‑visual technical services to faculty, students, and staff for special events and instructional purposes; assist with operation, maintenance, and minor repairs of audio‑visual equipment.
  • Install and set up audio‑visual equipment as required; assist senior technicians with troubleshooting and necessary modifications.
  • Comply with security and safety standards for all equipment.
  • Assist with monitoring and maintaining inventory records of audiovisual equipment.
  • Assist with operation and maintenance of stages or facilities; help keep stages/facilities orderly and operable.
  • May assist with scheduling, coordinating, and planning equipment services, orders, and repairs to meet specific needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

The Qualifiers

  • Education: High School Diploma.
  • Experience: 6–12 months required.
  • Knowledge: Experience and knowledge of audio‑visual equipment.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Professionalism: Presents oneself professionally in a higher‑education environment.
  • Additional Requirement: Must participate in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Pull Notice System; a DMV record is required as a final employment condition.
  • Must demonstrate a strong commitment to USC’s Unifying Values through ideas, words, and actions.

What We Prefer

  • Associate’s Degree.
  • Specialized or technical training.
  • Ability to oversee student, temporary, and/or resource workers.

Hourly rate range: $28.00 – $30.00.

Minimum Education: High school or equivalent.

Minimum Experience: 6–12 months.

Minimum Expertise: General knowledge and experience with audio‑visual and multimedia equipment; demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
