Job Description

  • Responsible for coordinating printed, digital, and promotional materials for all departments of the Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CACVB) as needed.
  • Serve in a supporting capacity to departmental staff, providing assistance and collaboration to ensure the effective execution of organizational marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Work with marketing department staff to professionally, creatively and punctually produce publications and other printed materials.
  • Conceive and create design concepts for projects when requested.
  • Ensure projects meet quality, budgetary and deadline requirements.
  • Maintain brand image across all CACVB materials including publications, brochures, flyers, name tags, postcards, invitations, etc.
  • Solicit bids, maintain files, manage project board, and track all jobs.
  • Handle special assignments as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Professional experience of one to three years in design, layout, production and desktop publishing.
  • Minimum professional experience of 1‑3 years concepting/producing/laying‑out entire magazines and/or similar publications.
  • Proficiency with Macintosh software and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite 5, including Flash animation and timelines, primarily web banner design.
  • Effective communication and time‑management skills.
  • Strong ability to work in a fast‑paced, highly detailed and deadline‑driven environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate office equipment and graphic software programs.
  • Access to transportation to attend meetings/functions throughout the tri‑county region and the state.
  • Will be required to pass a pre‑employment background check and drug test.

Essential Functions

  • Produce high‑quality designs for printed and digital media.
  • Maintain brand consistency across materials.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing and other department staff.
  • Track and deliver projects on time.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stretch and reach in various directions; lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Can rotate body while sitting or standing.
