Duncan-Parnell is growing and looking to add a Signs & Graphics Shop Manager to our Charlotte, NC office. This critical position supports sales, operations, and customers in our Signs & Graphics division.

Position Overview

The Signs & Graphics Shop Manager oversees all operations within the large-format custom signs and graphics department. This role manages projects from order entry through installation, supervises and mentors department leads and staff, schedules, maintains inventory, manages equipment, and ensures quality control. The manager maintains a customer‑focused approach in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Signs & Graphics team, mentoring supervisors and ensuring accountability through clear expectations and regular reviews
  • Oversee daily operations, maintain project schedules, and resolve challenges proactively
  • Collaborate with sales and clients to deliver graphics and signage that meets requirements and deadlines
  • Manage production schedules, shifts, and overtime
  • Evaluate and coordinate project outsourcing based on scope, turnaround, and cost
  • Collaborate closely with regional production hubs to share best practices, balance workloads, and support inter‑hub resource planning and production efficiency
  • Ensure high‑quality results while meeting deadlines
  • Monitor department profitability, costs, waste, and rework
  • Set goals and implement systems for efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement, fostering growth through new technologies, materials, and service offerings
  • Maintain working knowledge of in‑house equipment and assist with production as needed
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and vendor relations to maximize uptime
  • Source materials for various applications, focusing on sustainability and cost‑effectiveness
  • Supervise installation processes through the Installation Supervisor
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and address customer concerns promptly and professionally

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of supervisory or lead experience in a sign shop
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Strong customer service skills, especially in challenging situations
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to lift seventy‑five pounds
