Avail Media is a full-service media agency providing planning, buying and promotional services for both traditional and digital media. In addition to servicing advertisers directly, Avail Media also provides media services for creative agencies, marketing consultants and public relations firms.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Media Planner/Buyer to join our fast-paced agency. The candidate must be organized, detail- and math-oriented, computer savvy, and a team player. This is a hybrid position requiring two days per week in the Houston office after a two‑week on‑site training period. Number of in‑office days may change.

Job Responsibilities

  • Research, plan, negotiate and buy across both traditional and digital media.
  • Lead campaigns from start to finish: Define objectives, execute, track, and report.
  • Negotiate with media vendors to maximize value for clients.
  • Monitor day‑to‑day activity and make necessary changes based on client goals.
  • Prepare media flowcharts, pacing reports, and client‑ready presentations.
  • Deliver exceptional client service and act as the liaison to clients for specific accounts.
  • Manage multiple clients and campaigns simultaneously.
  • Observe and evaluate media trends across campaigns and provide optimizations accordingly.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of five years of media experience in an agency or in‑house setting for both traditional and digital media.
  • Solid understanding of media concepts, strong negotiation skills, and experience developing and executing media plans.
  • Ability to maintain and manage deadlines with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working directly with clients and serving their needs.
  • Detail‑oriented with knowledge of qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Working knowledge of media research tools and broadcast/print/digital experience.
  • Professional and advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Capability to work independently, be self‑motivated, and meet multiple objectives with little supervision.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Fast‑learner, resourceful, with excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with strength in time and project management.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and adapt quickly to new situations.
  • Curiosity about new media, industry trends, and emerging technology.
  • Required to work in office two days a week.

Required Skills

  • Proficient knowledge in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, file sharing, and Google Docs.
  • Familiarity with Strata or other buying software a plus.
  • Knowledge in social media and digital media a plus.
