Role
Associate Photographers are the talented and versatile team responsible for the media collection for Homes.com and Apartments.com. Equipped with top‑of‑the‑line Pro 3 Matterport, digital camera equipment and an iPad, each Associate Photographer creates virtual tours, floor‑plans and photography for residential homes. Each photographer is given a core territory in which they are responsible for servicing clients of Homes.com and Apartments.com. Appointment dates and times are set to scan homes and apartments with the Matterport Pro‑3 camera, capturing virtual tours and floor‑plans. In addition, photographers are responsible for residential photography to be used in marketing purposes to advertise homes and apartments to future owners and renters. This role works closely with clients, sales associates, logistics and the management team. Photographers are managed remotely by a Photography Manager located in local markets.
Responsibilities
- Support marketing efforts on Homes.com and Apartments.com by capturing 3‑D virtual tours and footprints.
- Create a portfolio of photographs to feature homes and apartments using professional photography techniques.
- Work closely with scheduling and dispatch teams to maximize appointments and meet client demands.
- Communicate professionally with clients, sales, research partners, and management to evaluate priorities, initiatives, and tasks.
- Navigate one‑mile square grids to ensure complete commercial real‑estate data coverage when not working on a residential home.
- Identify new inventory, missing availability, and commercial properties to be photographed.
- Abide by CoStar safety standards to safeguard company vehicle and equipment.
- Represent CoStar professionally at all times and participate in conference calls with sales and research teams as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Repetitive and frequent sitting in a car, standing and walking for up to 8 hours per day.
- Lift, carry, and maneuver equipment weighing up to 5 pounds.
- Repetitive hand and arm movements to type on a tablet or laptop and operate camera equipment.
- Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, lifting, twisting, and carrying necessary to perform job functions.
- Ability to work and drive outside during all seasons and work weekends on a rotating schedule.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of professional experience, including real‑estate photography.
- Experience working as a professional photographer or a recent degree in photography.
- FAA Part 107 License/Certification for drone photography, obtained within 30 days of offer.
- Strong time‑management skills and highly detailed oriented.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Windows, Apple OS, Microsoft Office, and Internet applications.
- Experience in a fast‑paced, independent work environment.
- Field experience preferred.
- Current and valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record prior to start.
Compensation
The associate photographer position is hourly plus bonus‑eligible, with potential earnings of $50,000 annually plus monthly bonuses based on performance metrics.
