Senior E-Commerce Web Developer and Solution Architect

About The Engagement

Estrada Consulting, Inc (ECI) seeks a senior web developer and solution architect to evaluate and implement a modern e‑commerce platform for a complex personalization, high repeat business and strong seasonality seller. Shopify is not an option; candidates should bring hands‑on experience with leading platforms and migration from closed or proprietary systems.

What You Will Do

• Lead a short discovery to validate requirements and produce a platform recommendation.
• Implement the selected platform, migrate data, and configure product catalog, engraving, personalization, file uploads, proofing, B2B conveniences, order status notifications.
• Integrate with QuickBooks Online and Salesforce; propose middleware or direct API patterns.
• Replace inbox‑based intake and Typeform processes with an embedded intake flow tied to orders or opportunities.
• Improve product discovery with modern search and ensure accessibility, security, PCI compliance, performance, SEO hygiene.
• Prepare for cutover, redirects, staff training, post‑launch support.

Required Experience

• 12+ years in IT, including at least 5+ years building production e‑commerce sites with BigCommerce, Adobe Commerce, WooCommerce or comparable SaaS/headless stack.
• Proven work with 10k–25k SKUs, CSV imports, data normalization, redirects, image pipelines.
• Strong background in product personalization, file upload, order tracking features.
• Systems integration expertise with REST, GraphQL, webhooks, authentication patterns, connecting e‑commerce to QuickBooks Online and Salesforce.
• Workflow design for proofs and approvals.
• Front‑end development using modern stacks and ability to extend themes or build headless front ends.
• Knowledge of accessibility, PCI compliance, core web vitals, SEO, AI‑driven optimisation.

Nice to Have

• Experience with proofing or print‑on‑demand systems, label/pick‑pack processes, barcode scanning during fulfillment.
• Search tech: Algolia, Searchspring, OpenSearch, or advanced Hawksearch.
• Messaging and notifications: transactional email, SMS.
• Shipping platforms and carrier APIs.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted product search, personalization or merchandising tools.
• Experience migrating from closed or legacy e‑commerce platforms.
• Project sample work – two to three live e‑commerce examples with personalization or B2B features, migration story, outline of approach.
