Job Description

Statkraft is the largest generator of renewable energy in Europe and an established participant within the U.S. energy markets. The Origination team sources and manages a portfolio of short‑ and long‑term energy contracts, primarily from renewables. The team is focused on PJM but may expand to other ISOs. We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially driven Senior Power Marketer to expand our power marketing activities in PJM, emphasizing mid‑market transactions with banks, trading partners, and downstream customers.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen Statkraft’s power marketing business in PJM, focusing on OTC mid‑market transactions and portfolio trades via the exchanges.
• Identify, structure, negotiate, and execute complex energy transactions, leveraging deep market knowledge and relationships.
• Drive commercial strategy for mid‑market sales, including pricing, risk management, and product development for downstream customers.
• Develop and execute risk‑reducing transactions.
• Communicate and collaborate closely with Origination, Portfolio Management, Credit, Operations, and Trading to ensure seamless execution and risk‑aligned deal flow.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key mid‑market and downstream customers, acting as a trusted advisor and long‑term partner.
• Educate colleagues with your knowledge and unique perspectives.
• Support day‑to‑day management of the contracted portfolio with Portfolio Management and Operations.
• Design and implement scalable systems, tools, and processes to support business growth and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in power marketing, trading, or origination, with a strong focus on mid‑market transactions in PJM or similar U.S. power markets.
• Experience executing power products via various exchanges (ICE, CME, and/or NODAL).
• Experience executing bilateral and structured power transactions.
• Experience operating under risk mandates and reducing risk via hedging strategies.
• Established network with power market players (industrials, utilities, funds, banks, trading houses, etc.).
• Success executing structured deals with LSEs, cooperatives, and municipal agencies.
• Familiarity with standard and non‑standard power contract terms and master agreements (ISDA, EEI).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Self‑starter able to operate independently and drive initiatives from concept to execution. Proactive, not reactive.
