Role and Responsibilities

Support program technical execution in accordance with Northrop Grumman Systems Engineering processes and best practices.

Perform technical planning and analyses at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.

Assist requirements development, allocation, and interface definition efforts.

Utilize tools and databases to keep technical artifacts up to date and ensure the technical baseline is maintained.

Play a key role in major program milestone and readiness reviews.

Author and provide input to program data products and other deliverables including Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Command & Telemetry Databases (CTDB), test plans, test procedures, and automated test scripts.

Help support critical test campaigns designed to exercise spacecraft functionality under extreme launch and space environments.

Communicate technical and programmatic status to program leadership and customers.

Lead by example and mentor teammates.

Qualifications

Self‑starter with strong problem‑solving skills and a desire to learn.

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with at least 5 years of experience (or 3 years with a Master’s). 1 year with PhD required.

Previous engineering experience.

Must have U.S. citizenship with an active DoD Top Secret clearance at the time of application.

Preferred Qualifications

Electrical engineering and integration & test experience.

Advanced degree in engineering, physics, or computer science.

Active DoD Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Experience working on spacecraft or aircraft systems.

Proficiency with scripting languages such as STOL, PERL, and PYTHON.

Experience in systems engineering including architectural studies, technical baseline definition, requirements & interface management, hardware/software integration, and test planning & execution.

Proficiency with MATLAB, STK, CORE, DOORS, or CAMEO.

Knowledge of orbital mechanics, attitude control, power systems and modeling, avionics, risk analysis, optics, communications, rocket propulsion, thermal engineering, or spacecraft integration and testing.

Knowledge of launch vehicles, system safety, reliability, contamination control, EMI, space environments, and human factors.

Experience with earned value management systems.
