Senior Visual Designer, Ecommerce .

The

Senior Visual Designer, eCommerce

will create onsite marketing, promotions, and content for Crate & Barrel and Crate & Kids. This role requires strong design, multitasking, communication, and leadership skills, delivering user-centered designs through various media. They are responsible for day-to-day creative execution, ensuring brand standards, timely delivery, and optimal customer experience. Collaboration with Site Merchandising, UX/Site Design, Development, Marketing, and Creative teams is essential, with a focus on presenting compelling work and seeking leadership opportunities.

This is an on-site position (Monday through Thursday) based out of our Northbrook, IL office with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays

A day in the life as a Senior Visual Designer, Ecommerce…

Executes creative projects for the ecommerce brand channel that are customer-focused and support the creative & business strategies

Takes on the more complex, challenging & high-profile design projects

Owns their respective area of focus (Collaborations & Partnerships, Registry, Design Desk & Trade, or Kids) by leading the design execution, monitoring the live site for optimizations, and partnering closely with each area’s respective stakeholders

Collaborates with writers and creative leads to ensure creative alignment with omni strategy and/or campaign concept

Fosters creativity & innovation by continued iteration of creative treatments for brand pages, experiences, and content to enhance the brand experience, improve conversion and drive sales

Create an engaging and relevant site experience through compelling brand design, content ideas/execution and seamless alignment with the UX team and other marketing channels

Partners with the Art Director to ensure design solutions meet all brand and site standards

Collaborates with key partners to bring eCommerce strategies and marketing campaigns to life for the sites

Reviews live site daily to ensure consistency and standards in execution

Champions a data-driven approach and utilizes analytics, AB testing and customer testing to inform design

Manages multiple projects, deadlines and deliverables simultaneously, ensuring on-time launches and flawless execution

What you’ll bring to the table…

Exceptional formal design skills: typography, composition, color, layout, etc.

Detail-oriented with a keen eye for aesthetic quality. Strong sense of typography and graphic design

Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners to create and execute creative campaigns for the website against strategic briefs, adapting for devices as required

Strong understanding of retail marketing and ecommerce strategies and best practices

Strong communication skills, including the ability to present clear rationale behind design decision making, provide clear and concise written communication, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills

Strong organizational, time management and project management skills; able to manage multiple projects and meet all necessary deadlines

Demonstrate leadership potential by taking initiative, being proactive in addressing challenges, consistently communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders, and taking ownership of projects from start to finish

Demonstrate flexibility and adaptiveness with an ability to problem-solve creatively

Comfortability in Figma should include using and creating components and variants, high-fidelity prototyping and more, with a drive to continually grow these skillsets

5+ years experience as a visual designer for an agency or in-house creative department

Bachelor's degree in Design

Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign), Figma and/or Sketch

Apple computer operating system required

Comfortable in Adobe After Effects

Comfortable in motion design, video editing a plus

Familiarity with HTML/CSS, InVision and other prototyping tools a plus

Compensation Minimum Starting Rate:

$70,000.00 Annually Up to:

$90,000.00 Annually Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to your salary, based on your role, associates may be eligible for other compensation including bonuses, sales incentives, and long term incentives.
