Drafter/Designer

Job Description:

The Drafter role is critical to provide support to the Engineering and Sales teams using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software by creating or modifying engineering drawings, BOM's, routings and quoting custom assemblies.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Project Engineer in taking design best practices from concept to final design and offer innovative solutions with knowledge of common manufacturing processes.

Build and maintain QuickCable CAD component libraries

Create, organize, and maintain full project document packages including assembly drawings, schematics, bills of materials, test procedures, fabrication drawings, and Engineering Change Orders (ECO's)

Issue Engineering Change Notices (ECN's) to alert other teams of changes

Re‑drawing 2D components into 3D

Interpreting customer drawings and re‑drawing with QuickCable components

Define and adhere to engineering standards

Create Bills of Materials and Routings in an ERP system

Ensure automation designs comply with all quality and safety requirements

Provide material estimates to the sales team for custom cable assemblies

Investigate concerns/questions from our customers (through the sales team) and provide technical feedback

Requirements:

Associates degree in Computer Aided Design or equivalent experience

1‑3 years of experience drafting & designing in work environment or university setting

Experience in designing and detailing electrical assemblies is a plus.

SolidWorks and AutoCAD proficiency required

Self‑motivated, detail‑minded, achievement‑oriented, interest in career advancement

Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
