Mark One Electric, Kansas City, Missouri, United States, 64101
Do you love the idea of making construction smarter, more efficient, and less wasteful? Are you someone who thrives on solving problems before they become problems? If so, you might be the perfect fit for our team.
We're looking for a DFMI Specialist (Design for Manufacturing and Installation) to help us revolutionize how we plan and execute electrical installations, bridging the gap between design, prefabrication, and field execution. You'll be at the heart of making sure our projects are built better, faster, and with less waste by driving constructability, standardization, and innovation across every phase of work.
What You'll Be Doing:
This isn't your typical behind-the-desk engineering role. You'll collaborate across teams-from project managers and BIM designers to foremen and prefab leads-ensuring we're not just planning great projects but building them smarter.
Here's a taste of your day-to-day:
Analyze construction documents for prefabrication and constructability wins Work closely with project teams to guide each phase of electrical construction Build and manage project-specific installation schedules Lead prefabrication kickoff meetings Estimate production costs and support budgeting with real data Develop and standardize installation methods using lean and Six Sigma principles Translate design into buildable components alongside VDC, prefab, and PM teams Create routing/circuitry logic in Bluebeam to streamline BIM workflows Produce cut sheets, shop drawings, and install guides for prefab teams Support field teams with documentation and expertise Constantly analyze and improve-feedback is gold in this role What You Bring to the Table:
We're looking for someone who's not afraid to roll up their sleeves, dig into the details, and drive real change on-site and off.
You'll thrive here if you have:
5+ years of experience in electrical construction, prefab, or engineering A solid grasp of electrical systems and NEC Code Experience managing teams or projects is a big plus Confidence using BIM tools, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office A knack for managing multiple tasks Strong communication and collaboration skills Why You'll Love Working Here:
Be part of a forward-thinking team focused on innovation, not just installation Get hands-on with exciting, large-scale electrical projects Collaborate with passionate professionals who value smart solutions and continuous improvement Competitive pay, solid benefits, and room to grow
Sound like a role where you can make a real impact? We'd love to hear from you. Apply now and help us build the future of construction...smarter, faster, and better.
