Stantec

as a Senior Design Manager and lead the delivery of major Design‑Build, Progressive Design‑Build, and P3 projects across the United States, typically ranging from $300 million to more than $1 billion.

Key Responsibilities

Lead initiatives to advance project design, operations, and business development.

Protect the health and safety of employees, clients and the public by following company guidelines.

Maintain and enhance Stantec’s reputation with clients, approval agencies and industry professionals.

Manage multiple projects or project segments simultaneously.

Establish project objectives, procedures and performance standards.

Lead multi‑disciplinary teams on major Alternative Project Delivery (APD) projects from positioning to proposals, planning studies, feasibility through final designs and construction services.

Serve as the design, deputy design or quality manager on major APD projects.

Act as the technical leader for major APD projects.

Identify appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve project objectives, manage contract tasks, track and control costs and schedule, and implement measures to stay on schedule and within budget.

Lead by example with active support of internal policies and practices, including risk, project and quality management.

Grow internal and external networks to enhance Stantec’s reputation and identify additional talent.

Develop client relationships to facilitate project activities.

Establish, maintain and promote partnerships in project pursuits.

Capabilities and Credentials

Leading APD projects across a region, nationally, or across North America.

Experience delivering APD projects (DB, PDB, P3) with construction values greater than $1 billion.

Well‑versed in developing, negotiating, and managing scopes, schedules and budgets.

Strong business development and marketing skills.

Ability to lead, motivate, mentor, and develop a team of technical and professional staff.

Excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues in a dynamic environment.

Willingness to temporarily relocate to Canada is a plus.

Education and Experience

Minimum of twenty years of progressive engineering and project‑management experience on large transportation projects, including at least three APD projects.

Minimum of a Bachelor of Civil Engineering or related degree.

Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with the ability to obtain licenses as needed.

PMP, DBIA, and other related certifications are a plus.
