Video Editor Role Overview This is not a “cut and export” job — it’s a creative seat on a high‑velocity marketing team working on the ground floor of a fast‑growing tech startup. You’ll take raw footage, social clips, and brand campaigns and turn them into cinematic, emotionally charged, scroll‑stopping stories. From podcast episodes and course trailers to social media content, vlogs and event recaps, you’ll bring Subject’s storytelling to life across every platform, working closely with marketing, content, and production teams to shape a consistent, high‑impact visual identity that feels more Netflix than classroom. This role requires speed, taste, and creative judgment — you’ll be the one who makes the cut that gets remembered.
Responsibilities
Edit short‑form and long‑form content for social media, brand campaigns, ads, and events.
Craft tight, emotional, narrative‑driven edits that stop the scroll and drive engagement.
Cut podcasts, trailers, testimonials, and cinematic reels that showcase Subject’s story.
Incorporate motion graphics, sound design, and typography to elevate each piece.
Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Creative team to refine tone, pacing, and direction.
Contribute ideas to campaign concepts and video storytelling strategies.
Partner with design and field marketing teams to turn events and brand moments into content.
Maintain consistent brand tone and visual identity across all video assets.
Manage organized project files, timelines, and asset libraries.
Optimize videos for various platforms (LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X).
Track video performance metrics to understand what drives views, engagement, and leads — and iterate accordingly.
Ensure all videos meet quality, format, and brand standards.
Requirements
2–4 years of experience in video editing, production, or creative marketing.
Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro or Davinci; bonus if you have full Adobe suite expertise.
Strong understanding of pacing, audio, color correction, and motion graphics.
Experience editing for social media and brand storytelling (bonus if B2B or EdTech).
Ability to handle multiple projects and tight turnarounds with precision.
Analytical mindset — able to review data on watch time, engagement, and performance to inform future edits.
Comfortable collaborating in a fast‑paced, startup‑style environment.
You Might Be a Fit If You…
Think of editing as visual storytelling, not just cutting footage.
Love bringing ideas to life and pushing creative boundaries.
Know how to make a 30‑second video feel like a mini‑movie.
Thrive under pressure and find flow in fast turnarounds.
Love the creative process of working with other creatives.
Believe education should look and feel as compelling as entertainment.
