Cancer Communications Professional

Position Details Provide specialized multimedia services and perform marketing, public relations, and design functions to maximize the reach of existing University of Vermont Cancer Center communications initiatives. Participate in the development of concepts, strategies, goals, and objectives associated with building the UVM Cancer Center’s (UVMCC) brand and expanded brand reach. Assist with the expansion and maintenance of communication initiatives across various platforms including e-newsletters, web (drupal 10), print communications, and social media channels. Work collaboratively with internal and external teams to ensure consistency and quality of production materials and provide general public relations assistance specific to the UVMCC. Use creativity to design, produce and place branded materials. Use judgement in prioritizing work and applying methods and make recommendations for updated tools and techniques where appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two to four years’ experience required.
Demonstrated experience performing a variety of tasks associated with graphic design, web editing, and producing/creating collateral materials for marketing and public relations efforts.
Previous experience working in a team-based environment.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
Video editing experience preferred.
Attention to detail and quality control, including proofreading, preferred
Anticipated Pay Range $56,000-$65,000/yr
Driver’s license required – to occasionally drive Cancer Center van.
Special Conditions
Bargaining unit position
External candidates must complete a 4‑month probationary period
Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non‑exempt position, may result in overtime)
A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees
This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy
Background Check required for this position
