Overall Responsibility The Automotive Technical Marketing Manager supports both Automotive and Non-Automotive marketing segments by contributing to overall strategy and product development.
The Manager works closely with Research, Pre-source, Engineering, Operations and Product Control, and provides product capability training, serving as the subject matter expert for all technical support needs across Sales & Marketing.
Accountability 1) Automotive
Assist in developing and implementing the Automotive Strategy.
Through the commercial prioritization of new product development (Automotive Product Strategy Board).
Direct the assignment of new automotive business (New Business Allocation).
Commercial support of capital expenditures impacting Automotive Products.
Prioritize Research support for automotive product requirements.
Provide technical and commercial support for pre‑source activities regarding tool development, product development support, and support of the Automotive account teams with respect to obtaining new business in pursuit of account team goals.
Lead pre‑source account management with respect to customer RFQ reviews, quoting, PO management, inventory management and expansion of processor networks within the US.
Implement the NAMBT policies with respect to allocation of new automotive inquiries.
Oversee commercial recommendations on re‑allocation of automotive parts to align with Product Control and facilities’ strategies, while also supporting asset optimization.
Support technical, field sales and product control functions.
Establish product capabilities.
Capture value.
Facilitate part transfers.
2) Automotive Tiers and Supply Chain
Coordinate with other departments (Product Control, Research, Engineering, Operations, Outside Processing/Purchasing) on automotive products with respect to pricing, volume forecasts and product needs.
Maintain and execute "Value Capture" pricing model procedure, and related projects, working with Product Control.
Conduct Product Capability training for Sales & Marketing new hires along with any other ad‑hoc training needs.
Serve as the go‑to person for all technical support needs across Sales & Marketing.
What you’ll need
7 years of industry or ArcelorMittal experience.
Engineering degree.
Strong technical knowledge and familiarity with products and customer specifications.
Proven technical experience and ability to support a variety of technical functions across Sales & Marketing.
Deep understanding of operational processes with the Mills such as scheduling and production.
Prior experience interacting with high‑profile customers.
Must be flexible and able to react to immediate business needs when they arise.
Must be self‑motivated and able to start projects based on curiosity and self‑finding.
Prior experience working in Quality Assurance, Operations/Planning, and/or Commercial Sales.
Preferred Requirements
Six Sigma certification.
Preferred advanced degree in Engineering or Business.
Required skills
