Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer – Gas Turbine
Honeywell is launching the development of a new family of gas turbine engines that will help shape the future of the aerospace industry. We are hiring engineers in the areas of design, analysis, controls, test, and project management. This position is located at our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico site and offers a hybrid work arrangement after an initial 90‑day period.
Responsibilities
Perform stress analysis and lifing for low and high cycle fatigue, creep, and burst on turbine components.
Mechanical design and analysis of turbine components including blades, disks, seal plates and vanes.
Implement 2D and 3D finite element modeling techniques using NX and ANSYS.
Support complex projects involving multiple organizations to complete all assignments.
Support engine tests and functional tests for engine certification or RCCA efforts.
Support continuous process improvement projects.
Communicate technical results to internal and external customers.
Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
Equivalent of 3 years or more of experience in the Gas Turbine Industry.
Practical knowledge of ANSYS for stress analysis and finite element modeling.
Experience with crack growth analysis and probabilistic lifing for turbine component design.
Knowledge of MATLAB and Python programming.
Proficiency in using NX, APDL, MATLAB, DARWIN.
Strong teamwork, communication, and customer‑satisfaction orientation.
Additional Requirements Travel up to 10% may be expected.
