Are you hitting snooze on a life you're never really going to escape from? Are you tired of doom-scrolling your way through a society on fire? Do you want to hop off the spinning wheel and try it your way? If you have a high attention to detail, a love for research, a passion for storytelling, and a desire to help an organization grow in its field—we want YOU!

The Texas Railway Preservation Association (TRPA) is a Houston-based non-profit focused on railroad education and rail travel experiences. We are looking for a self-starting, committed volunteer to help our organization graduate to the next step.

We approach every hurdle with an out-of-the-box answer, bringing new technology, ideas, and practices into the preservation industry. We want to continue the important work of preserving railroad equipment in the Houston area and provide a valuable community service.

The TRPA empowers its volunteers and members to make an impact, using their specific skills to see their dreams and ideas come to life.

Your Contribution & Growth

This position starts with you wearing many hats, multi-tasking between the organization's current needs and the future needs of our projects. We don't expect you to know everything or do it all yourself, but we do expect accountability and initiative.

The vision for this position starts with you. Once you have truly rooted yourself and made your department your own, we want you to begin growing the team. Your department will be built on your work ethic and methods, and will be essential in ensuring other parts of the organization function properly. We believe that if done correctly, this will lead to a phase where core members, such as yourself, begin to receive a monthly payroll, along with perks and benefits. This position is extremely vital to the growth of payroll, and we are excited to grow the grant writing team!
