Job Description
The Mechanical HVAC/Plumbing Designer is responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems, including HVAC and plumbing, for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings. This role involves creating construction documents, coordinating with other disciplines, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Responsibilities
Design and develop HVAC and plumbing systems for various building types.
Create detailed construction documents.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive project development.
Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
Perform constructability reviews of drawings.
Coordinate with consultants and contractors.
Review calculations, drawings, and specifications, providing meaningful feedback.
Essential Skills
2-4 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing design.
Proficiency in design, schematic and engineering processes.
Experience with Revit, AutoCAD and 3‑D modeling.
Experience in public projects or work with federal, public and military projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with electrical engineering and consulting.
EIT certification is preferred.
Work Environment
The work environment offers a hybrid/remote work option after 90 days for individuals who demonstrate the ability to complete tasks efficiently. The office is in a cubical setting along the Sacramento River. The company is engaged in a variety of new and technically complex projects, specializing in government and military facilities, which demand precision engineering and close coordination across multiple disciplines to meet stringent federal and defense standards.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, California.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
