The Iowa State Daily Media Group is looking for a high‑capacity videographer ready to join a steadily‑growing creative services agency based on the Iowa State University campus in Ames, Iowa.

We’re a student‑run, professionally managed media company committed to providing excellent experiential learning opportunities for students at Iowa State University.

We’re made up of two student‑run media companies: The Iowa State Daily (the Iowa State University campus newspaper, est. 1890) and its multimedia arm.

Position Overview

This role will provide professional oversight of the videography department for the Model Farm program and deliver videography services for a variety of clients across Iowa and the United States. The successful candidate will manage a team of student videographers, develop concepts, direct on‑location shoots, edit footage, record voice‑overs, and write scripts. You will also travel to different locations around Iowa once per month and occasionally outside the state for on‑location production.

You must reside in Ames or its immediate surrounding area; commuting is not permitted.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional videography experience
• Exceptional attention to detail and reliable deadline management
• Strong customer‑service and student‑oriented communication skills
• Ability to operate and manage projects in a start‑up environment
• Proficient with video editing software
• Experience leading creative teams
• Residence in Ames or immediate surrounding area (required)
