Job Description

The Sr Cyber Security Manager is a critical member of NBCUniversal’s Cyber Security organization, responsible for executing the Cyber Security strategy and overseeing operational engagement with key leaders across Studios, Film, Television (episodic), Operations & Technology, Media Services, and enterprise‑wide business solution teams. The role requires a security professional with proactive defense experience and the ability to translate insight into a tactical roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leadership and service owners to execute the Cyber Security strategy and consistently meet or exceed established security levels.
  • Communicate and coordinate NBCUniversal’s Cyber Security strategy, programs, and services with diverse stakeholders.
  • Understand business workflows to identify risks and develop business‑aware mitigation strategies.
  • Provide cyber security thought leadership and counsel, considering business culture, audience, and climate.
  • Articulate the threat landscape and align cyber security strategy with defense objectives.
  • Integrate individual security engineering assessments, compliance status, and incident reports to prioritize and coordinate actions.
  • Track and coordinate cyber security involvement in technical and business‑driven technology projects.
  • Partner with the incident response team to resolve and close investigations, including post‑mortem and remediation plans.
  • Develop and maintain business‑relevant metrics and KPIs that support measurement of cyber security program maturity.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Information Technology, or 7 years with a master’s‑level education in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cyber security.
  • Minimum 2 years of customer‑facing technical engagement roles, including service and solution delivery.
  • Minimum 2 years managing, coordinating, and tracking projects using various project management tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of time.
  • Minimum 2 years of managing cyber security or related professional teams.
  • Licensed to participate in professional security associations (e.g., CISSP, CISM).
  • Must be located within commuting distance to Universal City, California or New York, New York:
    • Universal City, California
    • New York, New York

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in news or media entertainment industry.
  • Preferred knowledge of production, VFX, post‑production, and content creation workflows.
  • Experience securing enterprise products such as Microsoft suite, collaboration tools, and development platforms.
  • Strong communication skills across business and technical teams.
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Cyber security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH).
  • Leadership experience in information security or technology teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver security solutions in a global enterprise environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of recognized information security standards and media‑specific security frameworks.
  • Familiarity with international privacy regulations, laws, and policies.

Additional Requirements

  • Hybrid work model: office presence at least four days per week.

Salary range: $130,000 – $160,000 (bonus eligible). Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and other perks.
