Librarian/Information Competency Instructor, Part‑time Adjunct Pool – ESCC
Location: Bishop/Mammoth, CA
Salary: $67.00 Hourly
Job Type: Part‑time, Hourly Faculty Pool (continuous recruitment)
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction in Information Competency in the classroom and library setting.
- Deliver classes across a range of formats – day, evening, weekend, large, and distance learning.
- Develop, present, and facilitate library research and writing workshops.
- Perform academic reference services and promote library resources to faculty.
- Engage in collection development, subject guide creation, and outreach activities.
- Maintain subject matter currency, revise curriculum, and use computer and multimedia technology in instruction.
- Participate in departmental, college, and discipline‑specific professional activities.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Library Science, Library & Information Science, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds.
- Valid credentials from accredited institutions; foreign degrees evaluated by accredited services.
- Minimum baseline experience or equivalency as defined by the California Community Colleges.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Work effectively with colleagues and students from diverse populations.
- Develop curriculum for multiple modalities.
- Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Maintain subject matter currency and assess student learning outcomes.
- Utilize computers and explore new technologies to enhance instruction.
- Commitment to the California Community College mission.
