Day Shift (Sat/Sun Off Days) – Semi‑Monthly Salary: $1,830.60
We are seeking a positive, energetic, and caring individual for our open full‑time Recreation/Music Therapist position. Our team is dedicated to helping clients in their healing, resilience, and recovery through evidence‑based practice in a trauma‑informed, recovery‑based environment.
St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center‑South provides an array of mental health services to adults 18+ who have been committed to the Department of Mental Health. Clients receive a range of treatments to develop the skills needed to safely and successfully return to a meaningful life in the community. This role is part of our Forensic Responsibility Program, which focuses on Cognitive Behavior Therapy with accountability, Risk‑Need‑Responsivity, and the Good Lives Model.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Assessment of basic skill functioning related to services provided through the Rehabilitation Services Department.
- Planning and implementing a wide range of treatment groups designed to meet the social, vocational, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of clients.
- Case management including developing and maintaining individual treatment plans and related documentation, individual therapy, goal setting, family contact, and client advocacy.
- Attend and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, program meetings, and department meetings.
- Competency in the implementation of assigned psychosocial program principles and procedures, as well as program and departmental documentation expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
- College degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, or related field.
- CTRS or Music Therapist Board Certification preferred.
