Deposition Officers (DO) are independent arbiters of the record who capture verbatim digital audio of depositions and other legal proceedings. No stenographic training or tools are required – you will use high‑fidelity audio equipment to create clear, complete recordings and detailed annotations that guide subsequent transcription.

Entry Level – No Experience Required

Responsibilities

• Managing the proceedings as an independent arbiter of the record
• Swearing in witnesses and acting as Notary of the State
• Generating a clear and complete recording of the proceeding using high‑fidelity audio technology
• Creating accurate and detailed annotations of case events and terminology to serve as a guide for subsequent transcription

Requirements

• Obtain your own digital audio equipment
• Have a state notary commission
• Complete a quality development program
• Participate in an entrance assessment and leverage our network of digital reporting courses and certifications
