Job Summary
The Curriculum Developer’s responsibilities include creating detailed, engaging curriculums and quality resources, liaising with Subject Matter Experts, outlining objectives, establishing and meeting feasible timelines, and ensuring accuracy of the content. Content creation can include online learning, classroom curriculum, job aids, simulations, and graphics. Strong project management abilities, ability to develop and write SCORM content along with excellent writing and communication skills, are essential to the success of this role.
Responsibilities
- Balance multiple projects at a time to scope projects effectively, meet milestones and target timelines.
- Create and develop in an agile environment and stay adaptable to change.
- Creating and maintaining learning/e‑learning content and courses in multiple languages.
- Manages multiple facets of curriculum development, design, and deployment.
- Collaborate within a team or with other stakeholders to create custom learning content.
- Design and maintain exams, and other formal/informal measures to gauge effectiveness of curriculum.
- Develop and maintain revisions, design, and develop training courses and programs.
- Attend meetings with other managers to assist and inform of all training, safety or security related issues being discussed.
- Compile data to submit to Directors of Training to assist in proposals for improvements to content.
- Meet with customer/airline representatives when directed as needed for training or audit related issues.
- Manage the interface between SCORM content and online LMS including content revisions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language (Bilingual preferred).
- High School Diploma and two years or equivalent experience in airline Ground Handling/Cargo, Safety, Security, Training Development, or a related discipline.
- Proficient and adaptable to various computer programs including Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to comply with Company policies as described in established guidelines.
- Time Management and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively with Subject Matter Experts, Project Managers, and other stakeholders.
- Experience presenting and/or education coaching, instructional design software and/or video tutorial software preferred.
- Excellent collaboration, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Travel as approved by the senior leadership and Quality Assurance and any other required company approving official.
- Attend meetings and conduct on‑site support as necessary.
- Responsible for maintaining expense reports and adhering to travel budgets.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision and alone or as part of a dynamic team.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with course design and SCORM authoring tools such as Articulate 360, RISE, Adobe Captivate and other authoring tools.
- Familiar with all appropriate domestic and international regulations (e.g., TSA, FAA, IATA, OSHA, CBP) pertaining to transportation operations and Worldwide Flight Services.
- Understanding of efficient training development practices, including the ability to build content that can easily be sustained over time.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
- Must be able to perform the following functions in variable weather and environmental conditions: push, pull, bend, stoop, twist, turn, reach, crawl, or grip as necessary.
- Work in restricted spaces as necessary.
- Work in a high noise level environment.
- Tolerate dust, jet fumes, and toxic chemicals.
- Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- Walk short distances.
- Sit and/or stand for short or extended periods of time.
- Lift/carry/move objects, files, and documents up to 10 pounds.
- Work in an office environment using standard office equipment.
- Talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
