Role:
We’re seeking skilled and thoughtful
Line and Copy Editors
to help refine manuscripts and written materials before publication. This is a wonderful opportunity for word lovers who want to make an impact through storytelling, language, and community. What You’ll Do: Edit manuscripts for grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure while maintaining the author’s voice. Review text for clarity, flow, and tone consistency. Ensure adherence to InkWell’s editorial guidelines and preferred style (Chicago Manual of Style). Collaborate with authors, proofreaders, and the editorial team to deliver polished, publication-ready content. Provide constructive feedback that enhances the reader’s experience. Our Ideal Volunteer: Strong editing and writing skills with an eye for detail. Familiarity with editing tools (Google Docs or Microsoft Word with tracked changes). Experience in copyediting, line editing, or writing (professional or volunteer). Understanding of editorial style guides. Passionate about literature, diverse storytelling, and inclusive publishing.
