The Samsung global services team is responsible for driving Smart TV and mobile services businesses by building intelligent, integrated, cross-platform services that delight and entertain users. Samsung TV Plus is an industry-leading FAST (free ad-supported TV) and VOD (video-on-demand) service reaching 24 countries and millions of devices globally across TV and mobile. One of the first FAST platforms, Samsung TV Plus now offers more than 300 channels in the U.S. and nearly 2,400 channels globally, along with thousands of shows and movies on-demand. As Director of Strategy, Planning, & Analysis for TV Plus, you will play a critical role in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis. This newly created role requires a mix of attention to detail, financial modeling acumen, strategic thinking, and media domain expertise. TV Plus is in the midst of an exciting period of growth and development, and seeks an experienced leader to contribute during this critical phase.
Conduct in-depth P&L analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement
Recommend short and long-term strategies for growth by analyzing market forecasts, strengths/weaknesses, and competitive positioning
Closely monitor key performance metrics and bring actionable insights to leadership
Lead creation of revenue and expense forecasts through collaboration with functional leaders and analysis of historical data
Produce comprehensive financial reports for management including content spend ROI, margin analysis, and budget variance analysis
Collaborate with Finance team to enhance and streamline partner financial reporting
Design and deliver presentations to senior leadership reviewing financial performance
Provide financial modeling support for ad-hoc strategic projects
Bachelor's Degree required. MBA preferred
10+ years experience in investment banking, management consulting, or media/tech finance/strategy/FP&A
Strong communication, writing and presentation skills. This person will interact with senior executives
Exceptional quantitative, financial modeling, and problem solving skills
Ability to thrive and multitask in a constantly evolving environment
Self-starter with an insatiable will to get stuff done
Passion and knowledge of the video streaming market especially FAST/AVOD
Salary Range Pay Transparency:
Compensation for this role, for candidates based in Los Angeles, CA, is expected to be between $180,000 and $220,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
