SUMMARY
Paragon Professional Services, LLC (Paragon), a wholly owned subsidiary of Bering Straits Corporation (BSNC) is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to support a wide range of environmental projects. Primary duties will include supporting field activities.
Applicants will be contacted via phone or email within ten (10) business days of submittal.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position, and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist with field investigations at contaminated sites to assess environmental conditions.
Perform soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and/or air sampling.
Monitor for hazardous conditions using field instrumentation (e.g., PID, multi-gas meters).
Follow site-specific health and safety plans (HASP) and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Assist in hazard identification and implementation of control measures.
Participate in daily safety briefings and tailgate meetings.
Maintain accurate field notes, logs, and documentation of activities and observations.
Use GPS or other tools to record sample locations.
Set up and operate field monitoring and sampling equipment.
Calibrate and maintain field instruments per manufacturer and QA/QC guidelines.
Assist in environmental remediation efforts (e.g., excavation, drilling oversight, in-situ treatment).
Monitor contractor compliance with environmental plans during remediation.
Collect and record environmental data to support site characterization or cleanup.
Coordinate with environmental scientists, engineers, geologists, project managers, and subcontractors.
Communicate field observations and issues promptly to the project team.

Required (Minimum) Qualifications
High School diploma and one (1) year of experience.

The employee will normally work outside. During work activities, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
