Job Summary
In the MWSU Center for Academic Support (CAS), content tutoring is a term used to describe tutoring for subject areas other than general studies mathematics or writing. Content Tutors are listed for specific courses on the CAS website, and all Content Tutors are hired because of their knowledge of the discipline(s).
Essential Duties Attending a one-hour tutor training Entering and updating availability on TutorTrac throughout the semester to allow students to schedule tutoring appointments Meet and tutor students on course material Maintain ongoing communication with the Content Tutor Coordinator and discuss problems or potential problems as needed Review course notes, textbook, etc. as needed to maintain necessary knowledge of the material Required Qualifications
MWSU Student Degree Seeking Enrolled at least part-time Must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA Received an A or B in the course applicant is interested in tutoring. Recommendation by the professor who currently teaches the course or who has taught the course in the past, or, in special situations, the department chairperson. Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants who received an A in the aforementioned course Applicants who are eligible for Federal Work Study are encouraged to apply Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge in the content area.
Physical Demands Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
Additional Demands
Possible online tutoring. Must have access to a stable internet connection and a device with working camera, microphone and speakers. Tutors will be hired throughout the academic year based on tutoring requests.

Hours of Work
Hours per week will vary based on the student demand for tutors throughout the semester. May be up to 5 hours per week.
