Responsibilities The Manager, Corporate Communications is a hands‑on, get‑it‑done type responsible for developing and executing internal and external communications supporting GM Financial’s corporate events and community giving objectives. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Corporate Communications, this role collaborates across departments and with external partners to ensure consistent messaging, employee engagement, and brand alignment. This includes helping to plan, promote, and execute programs that reflect GM Financial’s values and enhance its reputation through strategic storytelling, content development and logistical coordination.
What You Will Be Doing
Manage content calendars and coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely delivery of functions and communications.
Assist in planning and executing corporate events and community engagement initiatives.
Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Interface with Brand and Marketing teams to deliver coordinated and consistent experiences across channels and campaigns.
Ensure all communications align with GM Financial’s brand voice and tone.
Support crisis communication efforts and issue management as needed.
Draft and edit communications materials such as announcements, press releases, and organizational updates.
Support executive communications, including drafting talking points, presentations, and messages.
Develop and deliver compelling content for internal communications channels, including intranet, newsletters, digital signage, and video.
Monitor and respond to media inquiries in coordination with AVP and VP‑level leaders.
Track communication metrics and provide insights to improve effectiveness.
Qualifications Strong collaboration and communication skills with a proactive, hands‑on approach. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Strategic thinker with a passion for storytelling and brand alignment.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field required.
4+ years of experience in corporate communications, internal communications, or related field required.
5+ years experience in event planning required.
Experience in financial services, automotive, or regulated industries preferred.
