Job Description Job Title: Technical Writer

Location-Type: Fully Remote, EST Hours

Start Date Is: ASAP

Duration: 6 Month Contract

Compensation Range: $45-54/hr W2 Depending on Experience

Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Information Technology Technical Writer to join our client's team. In this role, you will be responsible for documenting complex IT infrastructure processes and systems, including data centers, servers, infrastructure software, storage solutions, and network environments. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of various technologies including Windows Server, AIX, RHEL, z/OS, Active Directory, storage platforms, and backup and recovery systems. Your documentation will serve as a critical resource for internal teams, operations, and stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and understanding of our infrastructure and processes.

Requirements:

Minimum of 5-7 years of technical writing experience in the IT infrastructure domain.

Proven experience in documenting IT systems and infrastructure, with a focus on data centers, servers, storage systems, and networks.

Will be asked to submit writing samples.

Strong understanding of technologies such as Windows Server, AIX, RHEL, z/OS, Active Directory, computer systems, storage platforms, and recovery systems.

Deep technical analytical skills to ask the right questions and drive out detail.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear, simple terms.

Proficiency in technical writing tools such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel.

Strong attention to detail and ability to create documentation that is consistent, easy to follow and accurate.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with competing priorities.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Additional Skills

Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and technologies.

Ability to create diagrams, flowcharts, and other visual aids to complement technical documentation.
