Senior Marketing Content Manager

The Senior Marketing Content Manager leads the writing, editing, and management of compelling content used in marketing collateral, the firm’s websites, thought leadership campaigns, and other marketing initiatives. The role supervises a Marketing Content Editor and a Senior Marketing Content Coordinator, ensuring all marketing content aligns with the firm’s brand messaging and strategic goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop strategies to create new content, refresh existing content, or phase out old content to support the firm’s growth and brand elevation goals.
Collaborate with practice groups, partners, and business development professionals on practice descriptions, web content, marketing collateral, proposals, presentations, partner bios, and thought‑leadership pieces.
Manage the review and addition of new content in Foundation, the firm’s experience management and marketing content management system.
Assist in the editing and approval of client‑facing publications and other thought‑leadership content.
Advise and present to attorneys and business professionals across the firm on how to develop compelling content and use content to raise awareness and grow business.
Supervise a Marketing Content Editor on vetting new content and editing/updating existing content.
Supervise a Senior Marketing Content Coordinator on posting and processing content.
Stay up to date on content trends in the legal and professional services industries and advise on new strategies to improve the firm’s content approach.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Outstanding writing and editing skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear, concise prose for multiple platforms.
Excellent communication skills; able to obtain consensus and collaboration from partners, business development teams, digital marketing, and other firm stakeholders.
Client‑first and team‑first attitude; responds promptly and effectively to internal and external client needs, and respects the sensitivity of client information.
Collaborative; acknowledges others’ contributions and works effectively across all levels in the firm; seeks help when needed.
Knowledge and experience of a law‑firm business‑development process, including content requirements and processes for winning pitches and proposals.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in English, communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position.
Minimum seven (7) years of marketing content/communications/publications/business‑development experience in a large law firm or other professional services firm.
Experience in project management.
People‑management experience.
Compensation Salary range: $160,000.00 – $180,000.00
