Public Relations Junior Account Executive (JAE)

The Junior Account Executive (JAE) at The TASC Group plays a critical role on client accounts, supporting all day-to-day client activities, projects and teams at a tactical level with direction from senior leadership. They will possess strong time management skills and be detailed oriented in all of their work. They will have developed effective writing and verbal communications skills that will be exhibited in their draft media pitches, press releases, op-eds and blog drafts, strategic memos and all other content the team creates for the client. Their passion for and their understanding of the media world and their profession will have developed considerably in this role. They will work efficiently and effectively on multiple projects at the same time.
A successful JAE will play a meaningful role in ensuring proficiency and productivity on client accounts and will demonstrate initiative in all of their client work. They will work successfully with supervision from management, while growing their expertise in the public relations field. Under the direction of the AE, the JAE will begin to conduct tactical work for the team like pitching the media, writing press releases, writing client memos, identifying relevant media to contact, developing new relationships with the media that will help our clients, etc.
Core Responsibilities/Duties Overall Duties
Displays strong research and media list building skills
Develops and exhibit strong writing skills in developing media pitches, press releases, press statements, emails, op-eds, blogs and any client facing communications tasks
Learns how to conduct and implement daily tactical PR and communications tasks for the client such as media outreach, pitching, press release development, etc.
Participates in client meetings each week by taking notes and playing an administrative role
Works to develop a rapport with the client and members of their internal team
Incorporate and adhere to all TASC client best practices on a consistent basis
Media Relations
Learns to develop skills in media relations work, including executing media outreach plans, message development, management of events, growing media contacts and networks
Learns how to demonstrate creative thinking and a keen understanding of the media landscape when developing pitches for clients
Learns how to establish strong relationships with media that will help achieve client’s goals
Learns how to develop effective press materials such as pitches, press releases, op-ed articles, case studies and media kits
Learns how to support on the creation and implementation of social media campaigns for clients
Client Relations
Provides client service support, includingattending meetings, helping the team meet client deadlines and troubleshooting client issues
Develops weekly agendas, takes meeting notes, shares client deliverables and creates media reports for client accounts
Begins to learn how to serve as a client liaison and establish successful, productive relationships with client contacts
Management
Learns the process of how to manage multiple projects by anticipating challenges and ensuring adherence to deadlines
Begins to learn the process of how to directly manage 3-5 accounts
Begins the process of mentoring account associates and interns
