CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for a Data Visualization Developer within our Intel sector, advancing the national security mission through cutting‑edge technology. The role combines technical skills in data manipulation, programming, and visual design to build user‑friendly interfaces that communicate insights effectively. The Data Visualization Developer creates interactive dashboards, reports, and other visual representations of data to help stakeholders understand complex information and make data‑driven decisions.
Responsibilities
Work with large datasets, extracting, cleaning, transforming, and loading data (ETL) from various sources using programming languages like Python or R, and database management systems like SQL Server or MySQL. Design the layout, visual elements, and interactivity of dashboards and reports, selecting appropriate chart types, color palettes, and other design elements to ensure clarity and impact. Create user interfaces for interactive visualizations using front‑end development skills, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Ensure visualizations load quickly and efficiently, optimizing database queries, choosing efficient chart types, and applying other performance‑enhancing techniques. Collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into effective visualizations. Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Qualifications
Bachelors degree and/or 10+ years of experience. Active TS / SCI required, active TS / SCI with Poly highly desired. Technical Skills
Proficiency in Python, R, SQL. Experience with Tableau, Power BI, D3.js, etc. Knowledge of SQL Server, MySQL, etc. Experience with tools and techniques for data extraction, transformation, and loading. Skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript. Ability to identify trends, patterns, and insights within data. Skills in analyzing data to identify and resolve issues. Clear and concise communication: ability to explain complex data and insights to various audiences. Understanding the needs and requirements of stakeholders. Ensuring accuracy and quality in visualizations. Developing visually appealing and engaging visualizations. Ability to work with different data sources, tools, and technologies.
