The Telco, Media, and Gaming (TMG) Operating Unit is a newly formed, industry-focused team of sales professionals dedicated to helping customers achieve their strategic goals through Microsoft’s solutions. In this role, you’ll work alongside top‑tier sellers, solution architects, and customer success managers to lead digital transformation efforts and deliver tangible business outcomes. By addressing complex industry challenges with innovative solutions, you’ll accelerate deal velocity and play a key role in shaping the future success of our customers.
As an experienced
Consulting Account Manager , this role will give you the opportunity to accelerate your career growth, be part of a high performing team, and develop, own and close strategic opportunities that leverage AI and cutting‑edge solutions for customers that grow consumption.
Responsibilities
Lead the consulting virtual account team to bring customer visions to life through consultative selling, active listening, and continuous planning.
Increase Unified penetration through strategic alignment with internal stakeholders and intentional selling.
Identify and sell Industry Cloud solutions that solve customer challenges through co‑innovation with partners and Microsoft teams, including selling the Unified Mission Critical Portfolio and Security Services.
Own the full sales cycle—from lead generation and qualification to deal closure—while driving Cloud consumption through sold projects and programs. Achieve sales targets by Quarter and Full Year.
Leverage digital channels to uncover and develop new business opportunities.
Collaborate across customer and partner networks using a One Microsoft Approach, following established processes and methodologies.
Partner closely with ATU (AE, ATS), STU (SSPs), and CSU (CSAM or CSA) to identify opportunities and drive customer value across MCEM sales stages.
Embody and promote Microsoft’s culture and values.
Qualifications
8+ years industry sales experience in the commercial or public sector (e.g., Finance, Local Government)
OR Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years industry sales experience in the commercial or public sector (e.g., Finance, Local Government) or related work
OR equivalent experience.
3+ years consulting solution sales and Unified sales experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology (IT), or related field.
AND 8+ years industry solution or consulting sales experience in the commercial or public sector (e.g., Financial Services, Local Government) or related work
OR Master's Degree in Business, Information Technology (IT), or related field AND 6+ years experience in technology sales experience in the commercial or public sector (e.g., Finance, Local Government) or related work
OR equivalent experience.
5+ years consulting services and Unified /support sales experience.
Proven experience in consultative selling and digital engagement.
Leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Demonstrated success in driving customer value and business outcomes.
Experience managing complex sales cycles and pre‑sales processes.
Familiarity with Microsoft methodologies and Industry Cloud solutions.
Consulting Account Management IC5 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD 133,000 – 222,700 per year. In the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area the base pay range is USD 170,300 – 239,800 per year.
