Rehab Authorization Coordinator (Verification of Insurance)

Position Summary:
The Rehab Authorization Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the therapy team by verifying benefits, securing authorizations, and assisting with administrative responsibilities to ensure a smooth patient experience. This is a full‑time, non‑clinical position based in Columbia, TN.
Key Responsibilities
Verify therapy benefits and obtain authorizations for treatments.
Support the Workers' Compensation process by coordinating with appropriate personnel for visit approvals and submitting clinical documentation.
Cross‑train and assist at the therapy front desk, including:
Answering phones
Scheduling appointments
Assisting with patient check‑in/out
Completing rehab reports
Providing payment estimates and collecting account payments
Process and submit patient paperwork related to DME (Durable Medical Equipment).
Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required rehab reports.
Respond to and address clinical tasking needs promptly.
Communicate professionally with patients (in person and by phone) and team members to support excellent customer service.
Demonstrate working knowledge of:
Electronic documentation systems
Microsoft Office Suite
Rehab‑specific billing guidelines
Requirements
Prior experience collecting co‑pays, deductibles, coinsurance, and outstanding balances.
Knowledge of insurance processes and terminology.
Familiarity with administrative and clerical workflows.
Professional demeanor and appearance.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using NextGen software.
