Job Overview Working as part of the College of Engineering’s Communications team, this position serves to help support day‑to‑day communications and marketing needs in the college, primarily focused on the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering. This role would include social media management, research and engagement storytelling, departmental website management and some visual design supporting departmental events and initiatives consistent with NC State and College of Engineering branding and messaging. Utilizing web, print and email marketing, this position would also support alumni engagement and undergraduate recruitment efforts for CCEE.
Responsibilities
Social media management (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook); AP style journalistic writing; WordPress content updates; video capture assistance for both produced and live content.
Minimum Experience & Education Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field; or 1-2 years of relevant experience.
Required Skills
Ability to work within an organization’s brand guidelines.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to work collaboratively across various teams.
Experience updating and/or developing website content.
Basic knowledge of multiple social media platforms, Adobe Creative Cloud, and WordPress.
Interest in storytelling, campus culture and connecting with various audiences.
Knowledge of web design principles and WordPress or similar web content management systems.
Experience with AP style.
