Role Overview The Business Development & Marketing Manager will bridge marketing strategy and client development — ensuring Walden’s brand, proposals, and outreach efforts generate meaningful client relationships and sustainable growth. This role reports to senior leadership and manages a Marketing Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, qualify, and pursue new client opportunities across target sectors.
Research industry trends and regulatory changes to anticipate client needs.
Manage and enforce the Go/No-Go process for strategic pursuit of proposals.
Coordinate and attend client meetings, events, and conferences.
Lead proposal development from Go/No-Go through submittal.
Oversee Walden’s marketing and communications strategy.
Develop compelling content and ensure brand consistency.
Supervise and mentor a Marketing Coordinator.
Manage external consultants for digital marketing, SEO, and analytics.
Oversee HubSpot CRM and marketing automation.
Drive follow-up on inbound leads to maximize conversions.
Manage website updates, SEO, and digital analytics with partners or internally.
Work closely with Project Managers and leadership to align marketing and sales efforts.
Promote a team‑oriented, communicative, and positive culture.
Qualifications
5–10 years of experience in marketing, business development, or client engagement within professional services (AEC preferred).
Proven experience developing and executing business development plans.
Demonstrated success managing proposals and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; writing samples required.
Proficient in HubSpot (or similar CRM), WordPress, MailChimp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience with Google Analytics, SEO, and digital marketing strategy.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
