Director, Product Marketing Nécessaire is seeking a Director of Product Marketing to define how our products come alive in the market. You will sit at the intersection of marketing, commercial channels, and product, turning product features into differentiated, desire‑driven positioning and driving launches and growth strategies.

As a key member of the marketing team, you will partner with product development to define target audiences, positioning, packaging claims, channel strategies, and go‑to‑market plans. Success requires deep understanding of the beauty category and consumer, strong storytelling skills, and cross‑functional influence.

Responsibilities

Develop product positioning, claims, differential benefits, and messaging frameworks.

Segment audiences and define target consumer profiles, use cases, and jobs‑to‑be‑done.

Monitor competitive activity, market trends, consumer insights, and gaps; surface opportunities or threats.

Use consumer feedback, reviews, and data to refine future product ideas and roadmap inputs.

Work with leaders to set portfolio strategy—prioritize, retire, expand, or explore.

Coordinate integrated launch plans: channel rollout, support assets, marketing campaigns, sales enablement, and education.

Define launch briefs: product copy, benefit hierarchy, claims, packaging narratives, visuals.

Align cross‑functional teams (creative, digital, PR, operations, retail) to timelines and deliverables.

Lead post‑launch assessments: adoption, feedback, learnings, and optimization.

Tailor messaging for different channels (DTC, Amazon, retail partners) while preserving brand consistency.

Equip sales, channel, and retail teams with product stories, training, and enablement tools.

Oversee content (site copy, page features, A+ content) to support product narratives.

Qualifications

6–10 years in marketing at a skincare or body‑care brand, specifically focused on product marketing.

Portfolio or track record showing strong positioning decisions, storytelling, and launch execution.

Excellent cross‑functional collaboration skills—ability to influence without authority.

Analytical mindset and comfort working with data to guide decisions.

Strong narrative, presentation, and writing skills—distilling complex ideas into simple stories.

Ability to manage multiple launches and priorities in a fast‑paced, resource‑constrained environment.

Passion for beauty, formulation nuances, consumer behavior, and brand expression.

Location & Compensation Base: New York, NY. Salary range: $140,000–$165,000.
