Position Overview

The Design Assistant will work closely with the Design team to support the design process, primarily focused on sleepwear/loungewear.

Responsibilities

• Update sketches, line sheets, catalogs and concept boards in a timely and accurate manner
• Provide technical drawings and CADs to communicate design concepts, including multiple views and detailed sketches as necessary
• Support early stage development and initiate sample requests
• Maintain communication with vendors throughout the entire development process
• Attend recap meetings to document updates and execute changes to tech packs and catalogs
• Attend prototyping fit sessions and collaborate with the Design team to review samples
• Ensure deadlines are met and coordinate general assistance for the Design team
• Manage tracking, cataloging, and organization of samples for buyer meetings
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design or related field
• Strong internship experience and/or 1 year of relevant corporate experience preferred
• Experience using Mac, Excel, Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator (PLM experience is a plus but not required)
• Experience flat sketching by hand and in Illustrator
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
• Strong understanding of fashion trends and womens cut and sew
• Knowledge of fabric and trims
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast?paced, on?site environment
• Adaptability to changing demands and effective priority shifting
• Team player with a can?do attitude

Location & Hybrid

This a hybrid role, with 4 days in our New York, NY office.

Compensation

Pay Rate: $28.00/hr - $31.00/hr
