30 NOV 2025 The Director of Marketing and Sales
reports to the Chief of Staff and leads the Foundation’s marketing, event sales, and public relations activities in an effort to attract individual members and corporate partners, increase program participation and event attendance, increase brand awareness, and ensure the Foundation’s mission and activities is well-understood. S/he leads the event sales team to maximize participation, revenue, and engagement. Location: Greater Tampa Bay Area, FL (most work is remote) Responsibilities: Develop and lead GSOF’s overall marketing and sales strategy across all events and programs Manage, mentor, and motivate the marketing and sales team, including hiring, training, and task delegation Develop, execute, and manage an annual marketing budget Direct the planning, execution, and performance of various marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels With the Sr. Director of Events and the Director of SOF Week, develop, execute all relevant event BOOMs; develop and assign all resultant action items Oversee and assess the GSOF website, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other content and communications venues; write and edit web content, press releases, and copy for promotional materials Oversee marketing calendars, independent consultants, and vendors Oversee all signage, promotional materials, and collateral (both digital and print) Prepare marketing and sales reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data Plan and execute public relations and media engagement Research market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and inform strategic decisions Set marketing and sales goals, analyze marketing and sales results and key performance indicators (KPIs), compiling comprehensive reports for executive leadership Work with other departments to ensure marketing and sales efforts are aligned with overall business goals and strategies Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and internal teams to ensure alignment and customer satisfaction Desired Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in a Marketing or Sales BA Background with Special Operations and/or Military Experience Ability to manage time and work remotely Ability to work with a dynamic and fast-moving team Strong leadership, strategic thinking, excellent communication, and analytical abilities to interpret data and make informed decisions Experience with various digital marketing tactics, including SEO/SEM, social media, email, and display advertising, as well as analytics tools Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and ensure campaigns run smoothly and meet deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Desired Software Experience
Google Suite, especially Docs, Sheets, and Slides Canva Monday.com or similar task management system Adobe Creative Cloud Products, especially Premiere Pro and Audition WordPress Site Development CVENT or similar event management software Constant Contact or other Marketing Automation tools re:Members or other Association Management Systems (AMS)
