Position Details
The Film, Animation, and New Media Department (FMX) in the College of Arts & Letters invites applications for part‑time instructors who will teach all levels of narrative, documentary, and experimental filmmaking using digital cameras, lighting, sound, and postproduction techniques. Successful applicants will have specializations within the following areas:
- Digital filmmaking
- Cinematography
- Lighting for film
- Post‑production workflow, editing, color correction, compositing
- Location audio and audio post‑production
- Documentary production
- Narrative production
- Experimental filmmaking
- Producing motion pictures and production management
- Virtual production
Responsibilities
- Teach one or two 4‑hour courses per semester.
- Utilize the department syllabus and course assignments.
- Provide meeting time outside of class hours for students.
- Grade assignments.
- Manage online/paperwork grading system.
Required Qualifications
- Master of Fine Arts degree preferred in a related area.
- Minimum of a Master’s degree and at least 18 credit hours in your discipline.
- College teaching experience preferred in related areas.
