Opportunity
Provide Support to the Government O&M Manager utilizing best practices to maintain, monitor, repair and report on the readiness and reliability of the existing and future ICE TACCOM networks. Program radios to support the 20,000+ Law Enforcement Officers Deploy in support of customer missions to provide Critical Voice Communications Capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Repair & maintain a P25 simulcast conventional public safety radio communications systems.
- Monitor site status and address discovered issues, verify documentation of fielded systems, and interact with end-users to gather information to solve problems.
- Perform installations, repairs/replacements, technical evaluations, and assessments of various radio systems(s), telephonic troubleshooting, and/or maintenances of radio systems at ICE radio sites.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment associated with land mobile radio systems – tests, repairs, and maintain base, mobile, and portable two‑way radios and accessory equipment; assemble, connect, and secure transmitters, power supplies, and antenna assemblies.
- Program, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the following LMR assets: APX 8000, APX 8500, XT XTL/APX 5000 consolette, Quantar Repeater, Astro‑Tac receiver, Astro‑Tac 3000 comparator, GTR 8000 repeater, GPW 8000 receiver, and GCM 8000 comparator.
- Build radio code plugs for mission‑critical operations.
- Update CPS software and firmware for all radio programming computers.
- Test, tune and align duplexers, repeaters, portable radios and mobile radios.
- Manage encryption keys using the Motorola Key Management Facility (KMF).
- Encrypt radios using Over‑the‑Air‑Rekeying (OTAR) or manually with the KVL‑3000+/KVL 5000.
- Analyze and interpret circuit wiring, logic cable diagrams, complete communication system schematic diagrams, and network specifications for installing, troubleshooting, or maintaining the system or device.
- Travel in support of customer missions to engineer, design, and install Critical Voice Communications systems for Federal Law Enforcement activities throughout the U.S. and territories.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree and minimum of 10 years’ experience in tactical communications integration, testing, programming, troubleshooting, and design; *or* High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum of 12 years’ experience in the same field.
- Experience in tactical communications P25 integration, installation, operations, and maintenance.
- Experience in repairing and maintaining P25 infrastructure equipment.
- Additional required experience includes:
- Analyzing tower sites and identifying deficiencies/areas that require correction/repair, documenting condition of sites, and preparing reports.
- Monitoring, documenting, T1, MPLS, leased circuits, and POTS lines and checking parameters.
- Performing preventative maintenance of command & control/dispatch center equipment.
- Performing preventative and corrective maintenance of command & control/dispatch center equipment and identifying deficiencies/areas that require correction/repair.
- Preparing reports to document preventative maintenance.
- Operation, maintenance, and management of rapid deployment assets.
- Providing technical support in the field for rapid deployment assets by special operations and emergency/disaster response.
- Preparing reports to document interoperable system status.
- Familiarity with Motorola 7.xx System and Juniper network equipment (desired).
