Senior Video Producer, The Verge

Location: New York City or fully remote based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Full‑time role reporting to the Supervising Producer – Audio/Video. The position focuses on developing and executing editorial video programming across multiple platforms.

What You’ll Do

• Own production of multi‑format, multi‑platform video projects – from concept to shooting, editing, packaging, and publishing.
• Collaborate with a small team of experienced producers, directors and other craftspeople, providing creative direction throughout the production pipeline.
• Partner with the newsroom to vet and develop video extensions of original reporting and features.
• Direct and nurture on‑screen talent.
• Partner with the Publishing & Audience Lead to optimize content for social platforms and refine formats based on analytics.
• Immerse yourself in platforms where audiences consume our videos to understand audience behaviors and trends.
• Help define and elevate The Verge’s industry‑leading video style and voice for consistent, repeatable output.
• Partner with senior management on new show and format development.

Who You Are

• 5+ years professional experience in audio and/or video production in digital or broadcast media.
• Strong nonfiction storytelling skills and experience producing across short‑form, mid‑form and long‑form audio and video.
• Full‑stack production pipeline expertise – development, pre‑production, post‑production, packaging and publishing.
• Knowledge of production technology (DSLR to cinema cameras, audio field recording, post‑production software such as Premiere, Resolve, Pro Tools, Logic, After Effects, Blender).
• Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment, delivering against tight deadlines.
• Excellent writing and communication skills; ability to collaborate across departments in a matrixed organization.
• Grace under pressure, strong people skills, high integrity and an emotionally intelligent communication style.
• Passion for The Verge’s coverage areas.

The role is hybrid, based out of our New York City office or fully remote in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Compensation

Pay Range: $90,000 – $110,000 USD.
