St. Scholastica's Catholic Primary School located in Burwood is seeking an highly motivated, enthusiastic and friendly Arts teacher to join our school part-time in 2026.

Role Description & Criteria

  • demonstrated commitment to the Catholic ethos and willingness to actively support the faith life of the school community.
  • understand the Victorian Curriculum in the Arts, including Visual Arts, Performing Arts and related disciplines.
  • plan and deliver engaging, creative, and inclusive Arts programs that inspire self-expression and artistic growth in students.
  • differentiate teaching to cater for the diverse learning needs, abilities, and interests of all students.
  • use a range of artistic media, materials, and digital tools to enhance teaching and student creativity.
  • understand current educational research and best practice in Arts education and creative pedagogy.
  • use assessment and feedback to inform teaching practice and report on student progress in line with the Victorian Curriculum.
  • demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to professional learning and contribute to a collaborative school culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • demonstrate understanding of and commitment to child safety, wellbeing, and inclusion in accordance with the Child Safe Standards.

St. Scholastica’s intends to appoint a STEM teacher at 0.24 FTE (one day per week) in 2026 and is open to the possibility of a single candidate undertaking both roles, resulting in a combined 0.48 FTE appointment, for a suitably qualified applicant. St. Scholastica's is committed to the safety, well being and protection of all children in our care.

Special Requirements

  • VIT registration
  • Accreditation to teach RE in a Catholic School or willingness to do so.
